❥ Name: Rin
❥ Canon: Inu Yasha

❥ History: Once upon a time in the Warring States Period of Feudal Japan there was a Jewel that could, it was said, grant wishes. It was so powerful that humans and youkai (demons/spirits) alike contended for it, and so it became tainted, only bringing misfortune. A human priestess with a pure heart was found who could purify it, and it was given into her keeping, but she fell in love with a hanyou - a half-demon, and so became vulnerable. The evil Naraku tricked them into thinking that they had betrayed each other for the jewel, and so she sealed her lover to a tree with a sacred arrow as she lay dying, by, as she thought, his hands. At her request, the jewel, the Shikon no Tama, was burned with her on her funeral pyre, and so, it was thought, removed from the world.
Fast forward to modern day Japan, where a schoolgirl who lived in an old shrine suddenly found herself dragged through a magical well by a demon she hadn't believed existed, only to land in Feudal Japan. Turns out, she was the priestess' reincarnation, and with her return to the time her previous self sought to escape, came also the Shikon no Tama, restarting the chaos once again.
Of course, even without the jewel in play, the Warring States was not a good time for anyone, particularly not if you a peasant, and especially not if you were an orphan. And that's what Rin is, an orphan child in a peasant village, trying to get by. Ignored and outcast, without home or safety, and yet, the small child was still able to smile, and to care. She found a wounded youkai in the woods outside her village, and brought him water and tried to bring him food, despite his dismissive words and attitude. But her village was attacked by wolf demons, and she was killed escaping.
Turns out, the youkai was none other than Sesshoumaru, the full-blood brother to the hanyou Inu Yasha. He doesn't like humans, Sesshoumaru, but then he doesn't much like anyone, including (especially) his brother. He found her body and killed the wolves who had been about to eat her, and then used the sword his father gave him to bring her back to life. Rin followed him then, and he protected her, and despite his words and attitude, clearly was very fond of her. He kept her alive through war and battle and kidnap attempts (and once, his mother sending Rin to the world of the dead), and eventually settled her in the village watched over by his half-brother, although he does visit. Usually with very expensive presents.

❥ Personality: Rin is, miraculously, a sweet-natured, cheerful and slightly naive child, if a little skewed in her viewpoint. She is kind-hearted, going out of her way to try and help Sesshoumaru, despite being growled at and sent away, despite that her helping him got her in trouble with her village. She is almost always laughing and happy, and seems perfectly content following Sesshoumaru and Jaken around the wilds of Japan without shoes or apparent permanent residence.
She trusts inhumans more than humans, as it was humans who were cruel to her in her early memories, and youkai who saved her. Having said that, she seems to hold no grudges, smiling and willing to befriend just about anyone who is kind to her in turn. She trusts Kohaku, after he has kidnapped her and attempted to kill her, because she can clearly see that he is being controlled. She somehow trusts Jaken, who loudly claims to hate her, and is the most useless babysitter of all time. She Absolutely trusts Sesshoumaru, who as far as Rin is concerned can do no wrong, up to and including trying to kill his brother in front of her (admittedly it could be argued that Sesshoumaru wasn't trying particularly hard). Her loyalty, once won, is absolute and unshakeable.
She is surprisingly fearless with the right motivation, as Sesshoumaru has always saved her, and she trusts that he always will. Pretty much the only time she shows fear are when her life is actively threatened, or when she spots wolves. She can be rebellious as an outflow of that, although not in a malicious fashion - she snuck into Mt Hakurei, despite being told to stay put, just out of curiosity. Admittedly, it was Jaken who told her to stay - Sesshoumaru commands instant and complete obedience from her - he once told her to stop, and she froze and did not move until he told her it was alright to do so.
She is far too comfortable with messy bloody death for someone of her age.

Which god will they choose to support? Or do you wish to be randomized? I am tempted to pick Ohma, because Rin would adore the fluffy tail, but realistically, Ainea works best
